You are invited to BOOKMACHINE books + zines next art show, “Dia de Los Muertos Collection” by Miss Holly Bliss. The opening reception is Friday, November 2, 2012 from 6-10pm during the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk. As always, this event is FREE and open to the public.

Artist Statement:

A year ago I went to Hollywood Forever and attended my very first Dia de Los Muertos Celebration-a celebration for all who have passed. The graveyard was transformed into a magnificent party full of joy, color, and life. There was dancing, music, food, colorful ornate costumes, and strangers befriending strangers. They were all there for the same reason: to celebrate the lives of loved ones no longer physically with us. I hope to capture the same joy and color with this collection, commemorating those who have passed but will never be forgotten. Each piece in this collection celebrates the vibrant lives of women who have made an impact in this world. This collection is for them. May their legacy live on.
