ARTIST STATEMENT
My goal as a painter is to create dimensional pieces that invite the viewer to explore visual deceptions. Within each flat canvas a variety of paint applications form layers waiting to be excavated. These layers of paint create illusionary depth to lite

ABOUT CHERALYNN JOHNSTON
Cheralynn Johnston is a native Californian. She has a MFA in painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design and a BFA in art education from California State University, Long Beach. She taught high school art for ten years at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, California. She has participated in shows at The Sarah Bain Gallery, The Ashmore Gallery, Little Beast Gallery, and Alexander Hall in Savannah, Georgia. Much of her recent work resides in the Permanent Collections of The Savannah College of Art and Design.
