“GEISHA DOLLS” by Melissa Nebrida-Tranquil Tea Lounge Nov 2013 Art Show

October 31, 2013 in Downtown Fullerton Art Walk

Melissa Nebrida is a local artist that currently lives in La Puente, CA.  Melissa considers art as her greatest form of expression and communication.  She loves that through her work, she could visually express a type of emotion and story through color, design or composition of her subject matter.  Over the last few years from displaying her work, she gained a loyal following of people that appreciate her whimsical style of art that is influenced by elements of both Latin American and Asian contemporary art.  Melissa uses all types of media in her work including watercolor, gouache, charcoal and graphite pencil.  Her choice medium is acrylic paint for its convenience and versatility.

She started studying fine art at a young age and has continued to work on her craft into adulthood.  For high school she was accepted into the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts, where she was really able to develop creatively and technically through intense art courses.  She also took classes at the Art Center in Pasadenaand at Parsons School of Design in New York.  Melissa attended the California College of the Arts in Oakland and San Francisco as a Painting and Drawing major.  She currently teaches fine art lessons to kids and teens at a private studio, while doing commissions and constantly working on her own art.

Her “Geisha Dolls” exhibit will be at Tranquil Tea Lounge for the entire month of November.
