Speak: Photography of Visual Voices @ FLDWRK

Project La Femme and Hibbleton Gallery are co-hosting a pop-up photography exhibit In partnership with Santa Ana College and Irvine Valley College Art Departments. This juried art show will feature 30 pieces all in response to the question, “How do you use art as your voice?” Artists are asked to “speak” on a personal, local, national, or global level issue through their photographs.

This is a show that celebrates the wondrous beauty of our home, planet Earth. Featuring “Earth Becoming Fluid” a new live video collage by Chantal deFelice, a composition inspired by Rachel Carson created from all of her own video clips featuring our planet’s greatest resource, water.

Natural Poetry Month Open Mic Night @ The Fullerton Museum Center

Celebrate National Poetry Month at the Fullerton Museum Center’s Open Mic Night!
The Open Mic runs from 7-10PM in the museum auditorium. Admission to the event, as well as museum galleries, is free. Drinks will be available for purchase. Sign up to perform by calling (714) 738-6545. Also check out the FMC’s current exhibit “Dr. Entomo’s Palace of Exotic Wonders.”

The paintings of E.E. Jacks capture life in motion. ‘Art is Life’ is the motto for all of her work. Her work encompasses landscapes, urban scenes, nocturnes, interiors, figures, and still life. No subject is off limits. Her work has been featured in various periodicals including Plein Air Magazine, OC Weekly, the Long Beach Post, The Fullerton Observer, Voyage LA, Artillery Magazine and Orange County Modern Luxury Magazine. Her work has also been showcased in museums such as MOLAA, Olaf Wieghorst Museum, and the Yosemite Museum.

Stocco’s paintings are honest, fresh, and raw. “I’m chasing after something like the POETRY OF EVERYDAYNESS, or the “strange beauty” that arises when you’re running chores and don’t expect it, but there it is. I use paint and mixed media and a 2-D surface to get this across. The whole thing is about my need to process and repair. I hope it’s a similar experience for you.”
