FULLERTON ART WALK 3-YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT AT MUSEUM PLAZA
Venues come together in one place on one night to celebrate one thing:
THE ARTS IN FULLERTON

(Fullerton, Calif., March 1, 2013) – The Downtown Fullerton Art Walk will commemorate its 3rd anniversary with a colossal art event at the Fullerton Museum Plaza (Wilshire Avenue, between North Harbor Boulevard and North Pomona Avenue). Numerous local galleries, downtown venues and artists invite the Orange County and Los Angeles County communities to partake in this family-friendly, all ages celebration.

On Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6-10pm, the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk will hold its three-year anniversary at the Fullerton Museum Plaza with a special event highlighting the ever-growing Fullerton art community. The monthly Art Walk is usually a multi-venue art crawl guiding visitors throughout the downtown area, but for this ground-breaking three-year anniversary it will return to the heart of downtown at the plaza in partnership with the Fullerton Museum Center Association. Added features not normally found during the typical monthly Downtown Fullerton Art Walk, such as live stage dance and music, a beer and wine garden, interactive art and theater, live art demonstrations, and a gourmet food truck round-up will enhance the visitor’s overall art walk experience.

Most venues will be closed so they may attend this one-night art extravaganza at the plaza. On the plaza you will find CF Dance Academy, PÄS Gallery, Hibbleton Gallery, Bookmachine, Fullerton Museum, Studio EMP, Adorned, Artology, Secret City Comic Society, Share & Do Good, Tranquil Tea Lounge, Taylor Stone, and many, many more. Expected to return this year to join the festivities are other Fullerton arts organizations such as The Muckenthaler Cultural Center, Fullerton College Art Department, The Fox, All the Arts for All the Kids Foundation and various others.

The incredibly popular Downtown Fullerton Art Walk happens on the first Friday of every month, rain or shine, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, all year long. It’s all ages and it’s free! It brings hundreds of art lovers to the streets of Downtown Fullerton and to the various venues hosting art shows for the event. With Art Walk maps provided at each venue, it is a self-guided tour of exhibits around town where art buyers and enthusiasts can often meet the artists at their respective showcases. The OC Weekly recently selected the multi-faceted Magoski Arts Colony as Best Art Gallery, named Fullerton as Best Theater Town and resident artist John M. Sollom as Best Visual Artist for their Best of 2012 list.

The Downtown Fullerton Art Walk is all about building relationships between arts organizations, downtown business, and the public, and has emerged as an integral part of Fullerton’s culture. It is developed and promoted by the downtown art community and retailers who independently curate their own shows. Starting merely three years ago with just a handful of art-minded groups, the event has now grown to more than 35 venues in the Downtown Fullerton area. At its core, the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk is a coalition of galleries and businesses whose goal is to promote the arts and to build a tight-knit community.
