Artist’s Bio:
Sometimes the evolution of an artist is more of a revolution. For Orange County artist Jerome Ryan creative exploration encompassed the spectrum from playing in Cow Punk/ Psychobilly bands, to building vintage motorcycles and hot rods. But those all were not enough to fulfill his creative, energetic nature.
“Assembling found objects to display and sell at the local Old Town Orange Flea Market gave me an additional outlet for my creativity. It just felt right. The response to my pieces has been overwhelming.” Things just clicked when he decided to make lamps from the found objects. The first lamp ideas were built as gifts for close friends. People were really blown away, not only by the creations but also the build quality and details. Hidden dimmers and multiple light fixtures make his lamps stand out technically. It seems like Jerome has taken the next step in his creative journey. “To say a lightbulb went on in my head is an understatement.”
Using reclaimed and salvaged material for his work, his assemblages are not just “recycled” they are “re-imagined”. His mantra is “Avoid the New-Niverse! New Equals Death!”.
Jerome will continue his art, the glow of his creative vision helping people to see the light.
